Cleaning
- Rinse the piercing twice daily with sterile saline solution.
- Pat dry with a clean, disposable paper product — avoid cloth towels.
- Wash your hands before touching the area for any reason.
What to avoid
- Pools, hot tubs, lakes, and the ocean while healing.
- Make-up, lotions, or sprays directly on the piercing.
- Sleeping on the piercing or twisting the jewelry.
Healing expectations
- Mild swelling, tenderness, and light crusting are normal.
- Healing times vary by placement — generally several weeks to several months.
- Leave the original jewelry in place for the full initial healing period.
